Tracking set per product

Lots created at receiving
Each supplier receipt creates the lot, with its quantity, its cost and where it was put away.
Serial numbers on the way in and out
Record serial numbers when stock arrives and again when it is picked, so you know which unit went to which customer.
Traceable both ways
From a delivery back to the supplier receipt, or from a supplier batch forward to every customer who received it.
True cost by lot
The cost of the lot that was actually shipped flows to the invoice, so margin is real and not an average.
Returns and warranty
A returned unit is matched to its original order by its serial number or lot.
Can we track some products by serial number and others not at all?
Yes. Tracking is set on each product: none, batch or serial.
Can we trace a faulty batch to the customers who received it?
Yes. Each lot keeps its receipt, its movements and the deliveries it went out on, so a batch can be followed forward to customers or back to the supplier.
